Unrivalled safari experience
We are committed to fair chase hunting on Hunters Moon, one of the largest single unit hunting areas in South Africa.
The hunting experience is unique due to the extensive size of the property which adds to the exclusivity, as you will have over 500 square km of prestine hunting land to explore on Hunters Moon.
We are committed to provide an exceptional hunting experience to every client. Fully equipped 4×4 vehicles are used to reach your destination from where all stalking is done on foot in accordance with worldwide hunting ethics.
You will be accompanied by an experienced Professional Hunter and Tracker who will share their knowledge of the land and animals along the way.
Hunters Moon offers an exclusive hunting experience to a limited amount of hunters each season ensuring to keep every safari personal and of highest standard.
You will have access to the entire 500 square km ranch during your safari.
The extensive size of the land, sheer number of game, effective game management and strict hunting quotas ensure excellent trophy quality.
The professional hunters at Hunters Moon are experienced and trained to quickly identify mature trophy class animals. They take pride to guide each client to the best possible trophy class animals on each safari.
We recommend packing clothing which is of a light to medium tan colour. We recommend layered clothing which include a light windbreaker for daytime wear and thicker/warmer jackets for the evenings.
Comfortable, well worn-in walking shoes, sunscreen and a hat or cap for protection from the sun is essential. Other items of importance are sunglasses, lip balm, binoculars, camera & charger, flashlight with spare batteries, small day bag to take with during the days hunt, prescribed drugs (every lodge has a medical kit).
The choice of firearm is largely up to the individual client; however, we do recommend the following:
.270 calibre suitable for most small to medium size antelope species such as Springbok or Impala.
.300 calibre as a minimum for larger antelope like Eland and Zebra.
.375 is the minimum legal calibre for Cape Buffalo.
We advise you to bring enough ammunition, strong rifle hardcase for your international flights, a softbag for your rifle during the safari, rifle cleaning equipment and all necesarry paperwork.
The ranch has its own well-equipped skinning facility. Trophies will be expertly caped and cured by our skinners, and we will arrange all packing, crating and export of your trophies with professional shipping agents. The dipping and dispatch of trophies is an additional cost dependent on the number of trophies assigned for export.
