Hunters Moon is an extensive and spectacular 500 square km hunting ranch that offers the discerning and serious hunter an unrivalled safari adventure in ideal and authentic conditions.
The first farms were purchased in 1998 and it has taken two decades to put together this unique area of land, stretching from the Seacow River in the south, to the Vanderkloof Dam in the north.
Hunters Moon is located in the centre of the country in the Karoo region of South Africa with easy access to the N1, the major national road linking Cape Town and Johannesburg, and has its own private airstrip with transfers.
The closest town is Colesberg, while Kimberly & Bloemfontein are within 2 hours drive. Located in a summer rainfall area where the winters are dry with mild day time temperatures and chilly evenings.
The ranch straddles 20 kilometres of the Seacow River and is characterized by vast Serengeti-like plains interspersed with rocky outcrops and tree lined drainage systems providing good hunting cover.
Accommodation at Hunters Moon consists of 2 Luxurious hunters cottages with an additional 12 luxurious en-suite bedrooms.
All have scenic views of the endless Karoo landscape and are well equipped with all the modern comforts including electricity, under-floor heating, separate shower and bath, and private patios.
Bar facilities, tea and coffee are available in the cottages. In the manor house, there is a comfortable main lounge and dining room with large fireplaces for the chilly winter evenings.
